RULE 70. BRIEF ON THE MERITS

70.1 Initial Brief. If review is granted, the petitioner — or, if there was no petition, the party who lost in the court of appeals — must file a brief within 30 days after review is granted.

70.2 Reply Brief. The opposing party must file a brief within 30 days after the petitioner's brief is filed.

70.3 Brief Contents and Form. Briefs must comply with the requirements of Rule 38, except that they need not contain the appendix (Rule 38.1(j)). Copies must be served as required by Rule 68.11.

70.4 Other Briefs. The Court of Criminal Appeals may direct that a party file a brief, or an additional brief, in a particular case.
